Quadrophonic Release of
Small Talk???
Yes, it's true. One of the most sought-after recordings of Sly and the Family
Stone is the Quadrophonic release of the 1974 album
Small Talk. There is more
than just a difference between there being four channels instead of two;
there is extra music before the fourth track on Side 1,
"Time For Livin'," and Bill Lordan provides an entirely different
drum track on the second track of Side 2, "Holdin' On."
The Quadrophonic album was re-mixed by John Stronach; I believe the only
difference in the album's appearance is that the label/serial number reads
Epic PE Q32930 instead of Epic PE 32930, the label/serial number of the
stereo release.
Mucho thanks to
Ian Rogers [email protected]> for help with that
information.
