(AKA "Freddie Stone") |

| Freddie Stone was a man who nearly lost himself in the 70's as he fell victim to the excesses which accompany fame and fortune. By his own admission, he was battling a terrible addiction to cocaine and an abundance of ego. |
| After experiencing several deeply meaningful spiritual encounters with The Divine, Freddie became a Christian in 1980 and is now pastor of a small church in Vallejo, California. |

| He speaks with gentle nostalgia about the life he used to live before he found the Lord, and does look back on the early days with Sly & the Family Stone with great fondness. Freddie has by no means neglected his roots; not only does he continue to play guitar and sing with his congregation (which includes his sister (and leader of the group "Little Sister") Vet Stewart and parents) he also visits cities in California and talks to youth about his positive and negative personal experiences as a member of Sly & the Family Stone. I plan to upload a transcript of one of Freddie's talks, complete with photos, in the very near future. |

Freddie has been known to surprise his congregation's youth with vintage video clips of his performances with Sly & the Family Stone, even wearing some of his old costumes (which still fit!) on occasion which always elicits laughs. Freddie is now working on a new solo album, so check this page in the near future for more info on that! Here is a short article I've written about it which includes quotes from Freddie. |
